The School of Science and Technology (SST) started as a department which was directly answerable to the Rector in its day-to-day administration. In 1986, related departments were grouped into schools.

The School of Science and Technology started with the following departments:

1. Hotel, Catering Management and Tourism
2. Science
3. NCE Technical.

Tourism got accreditation in 1985 from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and became a department of its own. In 1993, the NCE Technical Department was also upgraded into a school and its units became full departments.

The school has grown since its inception and today it has the following departments:

1. i) Computer Science
2. ii) Hospitality Management

iii)      Leisure and Tourism Management

1. iv) Science
2. v) Statistics
